Ron Dimmick

I am a young pup born in 1953. I have been married since 1975 to the same wonderful woman and we have four great children. We have been blessed with four very special grandchildren and we are looking forward to more.

I grew up in Southern California. We lived in the San Fernando Valley and I graduated in 1972 from Canoga Park High School. At age 10, I began playing the drums. This is where my love of Classic Rock music comes from. I grew up listening to such great bands as: Aerosmith, Beach Boys, Beatles, BTO, Buddy Holly, Cream, Credence Clearwater Revival, Deep Purple, Doors, ELO, Elvis Presley, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Grand Funk Railroad, Grass Roots, Guess Who, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Van Halen, and so on and so on. I was in many garage bands growing up in school. We had a lot of fun pounding out the hits of that day and playing at school dances.

After getting married, we moved to Simi Valley, California where we lived for many years. While living in Simi Valley, I was the drummer for a classic rock band called “Second Wind” for over 9 years. My kids grew up around the band and helped with roady’ing and watching many of the performances.

My whole family moved to Utah. We love it here. I could not wait to get away from the “LA Scene”, crowds, traffic, violence, pollution, cost of living, etc. etc.. After moving here, I wanted to form another band and start gigging again. In 2000, My son Scott and I started to play with Randy Ellsworth and eventually CROSSROADS was formed.

My interests include: Family, Playing drums & guitar, Computers, Golf, Camping, Hiking, Travel, Motorcycles, Water Skiing, House boating and Classic car restoration.

I am also a: Certified Wildland Fire Fighter, Certified Structural Fire Fighter, Certified Hazardous Materials Awareness Level & Operations Level, Active Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Woodland Hills Utah Volunteer Fire Department and a former Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America.
